2017 F1 DEALS
A year has passed and Codemasters is back with the successor to the F1 game, F1 2017. The return of the classic F1 racing car is one of the highlights of this game as well as an update of the career mode. In this F1 2017 review, how do you think this game compares to other best PS4 racing games 2021?
Content and Value for Money
To start the F1 2017 review, F1 2017 looks like a big change compared to the previous series in PS4 racing games 2021. There are many things that make it like that, ranging from content and gameplay. There are many modes offered: Career, Grand Prix, Multiplayer, Time Trial, Events and Championships.
Championship mode has no less than 20 different series, from the Double-Header Tour featuring the Sprint Race and Feature Race in each round, to the Classic Street Series which includes a reverse championship grid.
You can spend hours in this mode alone. You can also repeat the Invitational events that you participated in throughout your F1 career in this mode. The classic F1 car is back from the 2013 F1 game. There are twelve cars, from the McLaren MP4 / 6 to the Red Bull RB6 2010.
Classic cars can also be used to race in various modes. Create a custom championship in Grand Prix mode, take on multiple career challenges, or just light up a ball in Time Trial mode. Racing using classic cars in Grand Prix mode is a pleasure in itself.
Game Modes
You can choose single class, multi class or racing spec. Multi-class racing is a dream for F1 fans. Like the Le Mans race with an F1 car. The cars are divided into two classes: “C1” for newer and faster engines and “C2” for older cars. This is the interesting part compared to other PS4 racing games 2021.
Drive the 2008 McLaren MP4-23 along with the F racing car! From the 1990s was a truly unique experience. Not just one race, you can create an entire season consisting of 24 championships complete with full training and qualifying sessions.

The four new circuits on offer are a welcome addition. This is a shortened version of the United Kingdom, Bahrain, Japan and the United States. Gran Turismo fans will recognize the shortened version of the Suzuka Circuit in Japan as the “Suzuka East Course”!
Each track can be experienced in dry or wet conditions, night or day. Career mode is at the core of F1 2017. Once you’ve chosen your favorite team, it’s time to prepare your season structure. You can set many options including the length of each session and various levels of simulation.
Program Features
A new feature for this year is a choice of AI difficulty levels with the addition of up to 110 instead of seven like last year’s games. One of the differences between F1 2017 from other PS4 racing games 2021 is Practice Programs.
Participating in this program allows you and your team to be ready to race. There are five different programs on offer, each as important as the other. All programs from last year are still in place, with two new additions.
Fuel Saving trains your driving style to help you manage fuel throughout the race. Race Strategy requires racing over five rounds, simulating racing conditions. The team will draw data from the program to design a personalized race strategy.
No other PS4 racing games 2021 on the market offers this level of driver analysis and feedback. Even if you don’t like F1, the feeling that you have a team, analyzes your every move so that it can make you race calmly.
The introduction of Resource Points (RP) and Research and Development (R & D) makes this game’s simulation much deeper. Almost everything you do in F1 2017 can get you RP. These points can then be used by the R&D department to develop car performance.
The online feature
Multiplayer mode in F1 2017 has a significant improvement compared to other PS4 racing games 2021. Besides you can create an entire online championship or take part in online racing. You can also get XP which is useful for increasing levels.
You can also view the statistics of other racers to see their weaknesses and win races. The event mode at the time of testing is currently under repair, so there is no review yet. However, this mode looks similar to DiRT Rally’s “Online Events” mode.
New challenges are uploaded every week so that every gamer can compete. The event mode keeps this game from getting bored, even months after its release. Multiplayer accommodates up to 20 gamers in private and public lobbies.
Two special spectator positions fill the remainder of the slot. The audience feature is very interesting and maybe in the future the features will be added. Acting as a race supervisor, gamers can enforce rules while racing online as in real races.
Additionally, the spots can be used for live commentary, giving an authentic feel to online racing. Gamers have access to all 2017 and classic cars in all multiplayer modes. It is definitely one of the best features of PS4 racing games 2021.

F1 2017 Pros and Cons
With the steering wheel in hand, this PS4 racing games 2021 turned into a whole different experience. Being able to feel the rear tires slipping, or the feeling of understeer as if it were real. F1 2017 car has an extraordinary level of grip, feels fast, agile but not necessarily easy to control.
All the cars in the game – both classic and modern – are a thrill to drive. The extra grip of the 2017 car means that usually at certain corners you have to lift the gas, now you can go fast and press flat gas. F1 2017 is also more friendly for those who use a gamepad.
It’s true that 2017 cars are more difficult to recover from when the rear loses grip, but that’s what 2017 F1 cars are like, tolerating no mistakes. With the ABS turned off, brakes prove to be easier than expected, regardless of whether you use a gamepad or the steering wheel.
Using the steering wheel has more freedom in the amount of pressure applied, it’s very easy to brake. Cars are easier to control during sunny weather, but when it rains you feel the grip slowly decreases. If suddenly it rains heavily and you are using slick tires, panic occurs when you slowly have to return to the pits to change tires.
Graphics

The visual appearance of F1 2017 is not in doubt, especially on a PC. Although when compared to other racing games, F1 2017 is still visually less beautiful. But with the maximum settings on the PC, the visual difference between F1 games this year and last year is quite far.
The game color palette is more alive thanks to the improved lighting system. Dynamic weather helps this game feel like a real race. The dynamic changes in the sky when the rain clouds begin to roll, which indicates rain is coming, making gamers feel the real racing sensation.
If you are lucky, the clouds will disappear and allow gamers to see the track clearly. There is also a photo mode but only for the PC version. If you have a PC that is high enough in specifications, gamers can shoot up to 4K resolution.
F1 2017 runs at 60fps and the occasional lag can be felt. On the PS4 the textures appear blurry on closer inspection, while on the PC they look perfect and best graphic. The character model is pretty decent. Some look identical to real racers while others appear to be caricatures of themselves.
Sound Design
Codemasters’ games rarely disappoint when it comes to sound design and this year’s F1 game is proof of that. While modern V6 engines are not as noisy as old Formula 1s, they still sound pleasant to listen to.
The environment plays an important role according to the roar of the engine bouncing off nearby obstacles. Reverb adds another element to enjoying game audio. No doubt modern-day cars may be quieter than others, but the sound as they pass is another story.
It’s like going through a tunnel in a circuit to create a beautiful symphony of machines. The ambient sound adds to the realistic effect too. The roar of the audience and commentators who convey real-time information makes gamers feel more at home.
Another noise that adds to the realistic effect is mechanical failure. It was a disappointment when the car suddenly suffered a breakdown and slowly drove towards the pit stop.
The 2017 F1 game produced by Codemasters is a unique game. This game is not only intended for die-hard F1 fans, but it can also be enjoyed by gamers who love PS4 racing games 2021. A few technical glitches and less smooth textures don’t detract from the overall experience.
The 2017 Formula car looks, feels and sounds absolutely perfect. Classic F1 cars are a nice bonus and the new career mode is a must-play feature. But this game is definitely a good choice if you are a fan of the PS4 racing games 2021. Hope that this F1 2017 review will give you a better view of this game.
