Pros and Cons
However, WRC 6 is a mediocre update. This game has more options than WRC 5, but it appears that KT Games has invested more in game modes and deeper settings to make the gaming experience more adaptable to players’ preferences, rather than making more significant changes.
Three new countries / rallies have been added, which means there are 16 rally options to try (new countries, Japan and Africa, really good ones) and the choice of cars is pretty decent. But career mode feels even more restricted.
It feels like now reading emails from sponsors and obeying sponsors’ rules and orders has the same portion as reviewing teams and keeping mechanics and engineers happy during rallies. This career mode seems more rigid and the more detailed resource management makes the game feel more like real work than entertainment, which makes me like the other parts WRC 6 has to offer more. Fortunately, there are many game modes to choose from.
Neither the graphics nor the driving experience are best seen, but they are solid and WRC: World Rally Championship does feel realistic, like most PS4 racing games 2021. WRC biggest draw: World Rally Championship must be the driver and the track list is authentic. To be able to play through a really cool rally season.
Sound effects solid, and only let down by the co-pilot who sounded a little jerky. WRC: World Rally Championship is not the best in rally matches, but it is the work and benefits of being the official game of the WRC rally season.
Physics and Handling
KT Games has taken a step towards depth and variety in the game. Now you can, for example, create your own competitions and participate in them, post them online, or invite friends to take a try. Which is why the WRC is a good choice from PS4 racing games 2021.
Now, too, you can create more detailed set-ups and test them across different types of training tracks, which I also like. There is also a split screen which I think works really well. Likewise with the option to drive a single rally or test a certain level with a specific car.
The physics for the car and the driving sensation are really good too. The developers have obviously brushed up on the physics for the wheels and the friction simulation of the WRC 5 and I want to reveal that they’ve made a really good upgrade here.
The speed sensation is brilliant compared to other PS4 racing games 2021, as is the balance between torque and peak power, and how it feels to move the center of mass and how the wheels travel over different surfaces. Sometimes, it feels a little like a car hovering over gravel.
Maybe it’s because of some inherent lag in the force feedback system acting on certain surfaces and when moving from one surface to another. Besides that, the steering support for Fanatec products is also very, very good and my DD2 feels really good.
Graphics
The graphic side of this game is probably one that I don’t like, even though the graphics look more realistic than the other PS4 racing games 2021. KT Racing has invested in “photorealism” here and some countries (Italy, Greece and Mexico) look really pretty with their sand and rocks, but there is a bit of a pixelated feel that feels sticky.
The graphics look almost blinding in places because they’re so sharp, and it feels as if anti-aliasing doesn’t work in some places in WRC 6. When moving, the graphics feel ‘crunchy’, especially on the console.
Especially if you compare it to, for example, WRC 5 which is cleaner, simpler, tidier, and smoother in terms of graphics, without looking too unrealistic. I also have a little problem in scaling, where the size of the car and the surrounding environment doesn’t feel right.
Sometimes even the car looks like a miniature and I don’t understand the reason behind that. This wouldn’t be too much of a bother if you were driving from inside the car in cockpit mode, but still I was a little annoyed when playing WRC 6.
Besides the brilliant variety, great game depth, the opportunity to fine tune almost every aspect, good physics, and 16 different rallies, the sound aspect is one of the best in this game. WRC 6 sounds really good compared to other PS4 racing games 2021.
How the cars screech and scream, how the car shifts gears, how the gravel hits the chassis and fenders, how the car screeches and the exhaust gas explodes, it’s all hard not to love. The co-drivers here are not bad either. The groove arrangement is good, the quality of the voice actors too.
WRC 6 isn’t perfect, but it’s still a very good PS4 racing games 2021. According to WRC 6 review, this game is a mixture of other WRC which adds a little Richard Burns Rally spice, and produces a very delicious dish. If only a real WRC were as fun as this, this sport would have no trouble attracting both new audiences and interested car manufacturers.
